An identity that gives handmade, one-of-a-kind ceramics the value they deserve. Raw clay meets stainless steel for a look that feels modern and warm.
Matiz is a ceramics and pottery shop. Every piece is made by hand, so no two are ever the same.
The shop had the craft, but not yet the brand to match it. The brief: build an identity that turns unique handmade pieces into objects people want to invest in.

Handmade ceramics are often presented as rustic, local or charming, rarely as premium. People see the effort, but not always the value.
The challenge was to raise the perceived value of each piece without losing the authenticity that makes it special, and without sliding into the cold, minimal look of mass-produced design.

Keep the authentic, refine everything around it. Each piece is presented as a one-off object with its own character, not as stock.
We brought in materials rarely seen in the craft, starting with stainless steel. Used with restraint, it adds a precise, modern counterpoint to the clay without making the brand feel cold.

The logo is drawn by hand, like the pieces themselves: imperfect, organic and unmistakable.
The palette stays deliberately neutral so the ceramics take centre stage. A deep blue, echoing the glazes, brings parts of the identity to life where it matters.
Stainless steel runs through the brand applications, giving the shop a contemporary edge while keeping the warmth of the handmade.
